Hello there readers! I am making this comic. I have been drawing and posting comc-like things at a different since Jan 2012, so I had already gotten myself into a pattern. With this switch to WordPress, my goals are:

1. To know if/how many people see my work

2: Work with a more customizable format, that can be adapted to a non- “.wordpress” site easily if by some miracle I ever make money off of this. (Not currently a plan, this is just for pleasure) Part of this custom comic formatting includes the eventual implementation of comicpress, so as to have better access to go forward/back rather than scroll down while slowing reading backwards. Plus, a more polished and professional look.

3: Focus on developing visual flow of story – timing and layout within a single comic. (Overall plot flow shall come eventually, but I want to get this down first)

4. Develop characters and an ongoing plot line, as this format seems more likely to keep readers returning and seeing stuff rather than visit once by chance, go “huh”, and move right along.

5. Art. I like art, and I enjoy putting lots of work into things I care about. That being said, I am well aware that the art I have been presenting here has been …. less than what I am capable of. This is due to my focusing on other things such as layout, a lack of time in my life, and a lack of models. The past few years I had the opportunity to go to a Life Drawing session twice a week and practice working the human form. Now, I feel I mostly need faces, as my characters are wearing clothes (also fabric draping – Ahh! No one has ever even tried to teach me that!). Were I not currently employed in my own little cubicle I could at least draw co-workers, but that is not the case, so until I get some life drawing in, I don’t see the characters making any immediate improvements visually.

6. Feedback. I really appreciate when people respond to my stuff, it makes me feel special and stuff. Plus, if it’s a critique (such as saying, “Rena you misspelled something!”) I also appreciate it. If something doesn’t make sense, please tell me! This is another reason I choose wordpress, more people are likely to have accounts already, but if you don’t, you don’t need one to comment, so you have NO EXCUSE.
